Is It Better to Be Home or Leave During Showings?

It is generally better to leave.

When sellers remain in the home:

  • Buyers may feel rushed

  • Conversations become guarded

  • Exploration feels limited

Leaving allows buyers to:

  • Open closets

  • Discuss concerns

  • Move comfortably

The more relaxed a buyer feels, the more honest their feedback — and the stronger the offer potential.

If leaving isn’t possible, remain unobtrusive and allow space.

Privacy improves buyer confidence.
